Kate and Skye's Byron Bay Elopement
The happiest 11 year anniversary to Kate and Skye. Back in 2008 Kate & Skye were married. 10 years and two beautiful children later, they were able to make it legal. Coincidentally, their 10 year wedding anniversary fell on the 1 year anniversary of the yes vote, and so it was on this day I found myself in Byron Bay documenting the special story of their elopement and vow renewal.
With Kate’s Mum and their best friend, Jamie – father of their twins and talented makeup artist – looking on, they exchanged vows. As their wonderful Celebrant Cara said “marriage according to the law in Australia is the union of two people, to the exclusion of all others’ there was cheering and tears all around. I still get goose bumps thinking of that special moment.
Spending the afternoon documenting the love between these two incredible women is a memory I’ll always treasure. Here is their story…
